After reading CWBC's latest note to shareholders, a twosome thoughts came toMind. First, it's likely a good thingIn the longRun that GNB is getting out of theHigh LoanTo Value (HLTV) business. It's factual that these kinds of borrowings have suggested good comes back for lending organisations. But they haveOnly been round since 1995, andThe RealEstate market has been very kind inThe last 5Years. If the marketWere to hesitate or down turn, the bank would haveA hard time trading them off asSecurities. ThatMarket could dry up overnight. Actually the$160 millionPool that the bank is still retaining may be hardTo market, contemplating how the OCC hasBeen approaching down on organisations involved with them. Anyway,It is likely that GNB is getting out early of aHLTV time blasting device that may takeOut many more banks.Next, I marvel who was doing the suggesting and accounting of theseSecuritizations for the bank. These areVery perplexing and I question if the bank has the know-how to do these "inHouse." Why did they not understand they were undercapitalized?Might the accounting firm have someLiability in this mess?My last considered was that there wasNo mention of E*Pacific in the note. This would have beenA good time to comfort us shareholders ofThe promise of this company. The latest press issue showing that E*Pacific had 25,000Cards outWasn't very encouraging. I'm estimating that procedure won't be money-making until they can get a twosome million hardworking cards out there. Things are going at a snale's stride in a rush that moves at the pace of light.
